Since 2005 I have been running amateur hill, ultra and road races. I have run many of the classic Scottish hill races, road races and marathons: Ben Nevis, The Lairig Ghru, The Carnethy Five and The Loch Ness Marathon. Recently I’ve been running Ultra marathons such as the 55 Mile Highland Fling, and 56 Mile Cateran Trail Race.
Sometimes I write specifically about running. Sometimes that writing is in the form of poetry and sometimes it comes as prose. This writing is collected here in a blog called Overtaking Myself:
I am currently working up a long piece of non fiction writing about running which will be called ‘The Way’. I have no idea when or how this will ever be finished but as it develops I will post bits of it in the blog.
